Ribbon Flip Flops

Finally, I have internet and photo access so I can post my final ribbon technique! I did this for an American Crafts review on Scrap Friends (an educational messageboard) and thought that you'd be interested in seeing this too!

I made some ribbon flip-flops for my daughter. The flip flops are from Old Navy and aren't even new, but they are really fancy now!
If you do this, experiment a little with how long you want the tied ribbon and then cut it all at once. After a bit of cutting, I simply tied the ribbon onto the handle part of the flipflops. If you are concerned, you could place a drop of glue before tyine, but I figured that on a 6-year-old no shoe will last forever.

The entire process took me maybe 30 minutes. Bigger shoes require more ribbon. I used 5 entire rolls of the ribbon and could have used another one had I realized that my baby stole the roll and hid it under the couch. By the time I discovered the loss, it was too late and the random pattern on the shoes would have been ruined. Because the ribbon that I used is double-sided, both the tops and bottoms of the ribbon look beautiful. I hope that this gives you some ideas!
