Final "Hope Chest" projects

In the Cherry Arte His and Hers paper line, there are a couple sheets that are specifically tailored towards one gender or the other. Don't let this discourage you from using them! I want to show you a project I did using the BOY paper below on a GIRL layout.

You can see that this paper is most definitely BOY oriented, yet I loved the "have big dreams" and "to be a superhero" sayings on the bottom. I searched through some old photos and found one of me on a hot cycle when I was about 3 years old. It was perfect for this paper! I used a Heidi Swapp flames mask to cover the "dog" on the paper and give the appearance of the flames coming out of the hot cycle. Then I covered over the "boys" with chipboard letters to say "Girls have big dreams". I love how this transforms the paper but still allows me to have a fun layout. I added some Hambly stars rub ons and little Making Memories paint to highlight the flames.

I just love the way this turned out! So next time you are checking out your favorite line, don't be deterred by gender-specific paper. Branch out and take a chance! You might be pleasantly surprised.
Have a safe and happy Memorial Weekend!
