I hope you've been having as much fun with Grungeboard as I have been this past week. To wrap up our Technique of the Week, I have a few more fun projects to show you. These projects are pretty special too because not only are you getting to see a new technique but....I'm going to be providing you with exclusive sneak peaks of the May Itty Bitty kit!
Let's get started! This week I've shown you how to use everything from ink to embossing powders on Grungeboard. Now I want to show you how to use it as a design element in your projects.
Grungeboard comes in several combinations of styles and shapes. One of my favorites is the Elements package. This package contains 94 different shapes on 8 sheets. Everything from wings and hearts, to keys and skulls. Its the ultimate multipack! I decided to step outside my comfort zone and use the skull and crossbones on an altered project.
I used Brilliance white pigment ink to cover the Grungeboard. This was super easy, all I did was press the Grungeboard against the ink pad. Because the eyes of the shape "pop out", I used a similar technique to color them black. The May Itty Bitty Kit was my inspiration behind this project so I wanted to make sure the skull didn't distract from the great paper line of the kit. To accomplish this, I distressed the skull with a regular nail file by running it across the shape and on the edges. This definitely gave it a more "pirate-y" feel by exposing the original gray. Check out how the skull turned out?
How about another sneak? Here's a project I did using the numbers from the Elements multipack. I used Glimmer Mist here because I was looking for a little glam to go along with the other bling elements of my project. Look at how the 93 pops from the page!
Intrigued?? Stop by the Itty Bitty Shop to pre-order your May kit today and don't forget to check back here on the blog to see the full projects in the next few weeks!
Have a scrappy weekend!
